Description
Feeling constantly tired, weak, or short of breath? You could be low in iron – a vital nutrient your body needs to produce red blood cells and transport oxygen effectively.
This Iron Status Profile Blood Test provides a detailed look at how well your body stores and uses iron. It’s a helpful check if you’re feeling fatigued, have pale skin, dizziness, or are at risk of iron deficiency due to diet, heavy periods, or other medical conditions.
The test measures:
-
Serum Iron – the amount of circulating iron in your blood
-
Ferritin – a marker of your stored iron levels
-
Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) – helps evaluate how well your body can carry iron
-
Transferrin Saturation – shows how much iron is bound to transport proteins
Use the convenient finger-prick sample kit at home or choose to have your blood sample professionally collected at our Neath clinic (additional fee applies). Results are usually available within 1–2 working days after your sample is received by the lab.
