Curaleaf

Curaleaf

For some people living with ongoing or complex symptoms, standard treatments don’t always provide enough relief. In these situations, a specialist-led pathway may be appropriate.

Curaleaf is a UK-based provider offering access to specialist medical services, including treatment options that involve medical cannabis, where clinically appropriate and legally prescribed.

Our Role at The Health Dispensary

We do not prescribe medical cannabis directly. Instead, our role is to help you understand whether a referral to Curaleaf may be appropriate and to support you through the referral pathway.

This ensures you access the right level of care, from the right clinician, with clear oversight and safeguards.

The Referral Pathway

If you’re considering this route, the process typically involves:

  1. Initial discussion
A conversation with our team to understand your symptoms, current treatments, and medical history.
  2. Eligibility check
We’ll help you understand the general criteria for referral, including whether other treatments have already been tried.
  3. Referral to Curaleaf
If appropriate, you’ll be guided on how to access a consultation with Curaleaf’s specialist clinicians.
  4. Specialist assessment
Curaleaf clinicians carry out a full assessment and determine whether treatment — including medical cannabis — is clinically appropriate.

Any prescribing decisions are made solely by Curaleaf’s specialist clinicians in line with UK regulations and clinical guidance.

Local Dispensing & Convenient Collection

If you are approved for treatment, your prescription can be dispensed by our pharmacy, allowing you to collect locally rather than waiting at home for a signed delivery.

This offers a more convenient and discreet option, particularly if you:

  • Prefer local collection over home delivery
  • Are not always available to sign for parcels
  • Value face-to-face support from a pharmacy team
  • Want quicker, more predictable access to your medication

Our team can explain collection options and support you once prescribing has been approved by the specialist clinic.

What Conditions Might Be Considered?

Medical cannabis is not a first-line treatment. It may be considered by specialist clinicians for certain conditions where conventional treatments have not provided adequate relief.

Common examples people ask about include persistent pain conditions, neurological symptoms, and other long-term health concerns — but suitability is always assessed on an individual basis.

Important Information

Medical cannabis is a prescription-only medicine in the UK and is only available following a specialist consultation.

  • It is not suitable for everyone
  • Eligibility criteria apply
  • Prescribing decisions sit entirely with the specialist clinic
  • Ongoing monitoring and review are required

We aim to provide clear, balanced information so you can make an informed decision about whether this pathway is right for you.

Book a Discussion

If you’d like to talk through the Curaleaf referral pathway, including whether it may be appropriate in your circumstances, you can book a discussion with our team.

This is not a prescribing appointment, but a supportive conversation to help you understand your options and next steps.
