What to expect from the NHS Common Ailment service
You’ll need to register with us which only takes a few minutes.
You will have a private consultation with the pharmacist in a consultation room, this will usually take between 10 and 15 minutes. Alternatively you may have a telephone consultation.
You don’t have to make an appointment but this means you may have to wait to see the pharmacist at busy times.
Your doctor (GP) will be sent information about the advice and treatment you have received.
Sometimes the pharmacist may need to refer you to your GP or another healthcare professional if they are unable to treat your condition.
Before the consultation please read more information about NHS Choose Pharmacy.
