BODY PSYCHOTHERAPY WORKSHOP-– TRAUMA & THE BODY

18/06/2017

BEYOND WORDS – TRAUMA & THE BODY

Sunday 18th June 2017 10am – 5pm (arrival from 9.30am)

6 hours CPD Certificate given on completion

Even the smallest trauma can be held in the body as somatic memory. How do we as therapists recognise and work with these non-verbal communications, exhibited and expressed in & through our clients’ bodies? What impact do your clients have on our own body? How do you recognise and manage vicarious traumatisation?

This experiential workshop will explore how the body remembers and expresses trauma non-verbally. Delegates will be encouraged to be inquisitive about their own internal processes in order to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their clients. Increasing awareness of one’s body messages enhances self-awareness, develops a deeper understanding of any personal vicarious traumatisation and gives us wider choices for therapeutic interventions and management of our personal self-care.
